Pre-release figure packs going to Historicon & Claymore 08
Here is a taste of what Eureka will have on offer at the Historicon and Claymore games conventions at the end of July and the beginning of August. Visitors to the Eureka Miniatures USA (Historicon) and Fighting15s (Claymore) trade stands will have the opportunity to purchase our ‘Show Special’ PRE-RELEASE packs, featuring figures from some of our forthcoming new ranges.
Among the delights on show will be sets of the first French line infantry from our recently announced 28mm Wars of the French Revolution range – all sculpted by Alan Marsh. These include multiple variant French fusiliers wearing bicorne and long tailed coat, dressed in what might be described as “neat” or regulation uniform. As such they can be employed in any French battalion from the beginning of the Revolutionary Wars and on into the early Napoleonic period. These are accompanied by some bearskin wearing grenadiers, and for those of you interested in using this range for the later campaigns we have included some voltigeurs. Officers, drummers, and standard bearers are represented too. Later releases will supplement these figures with varying levels of ‘campaign dress’, including the full Revolutionary ragged uniform look.
For those wanting something a little earlier we will have packs of 28mm French-Indian Wars provisional infantry (complete with a young George Washington), and a set of 28mm American War of Independence artillery crew in ragged uniforms and civilian dress to compliment the ragged Continental infantry we released a while back.
Other Alan Marsh designed 28mm offerings will include that Anglo Saxon super hero Beowulf together with all his retinue (in traditional Dark Age garb, rather than the Hollywood interpretation of the recent movie), and some beautiful sets of mounted Italian Wars Gendarmes – with all the ornate armour and horse barding, and more plumes than a Peacock! These come in either visor up, or visor down versions.
Fans of sculptor Kosta Heristandis’ work will not be disappointed by his new 28mm range of ‘Pulp Fiction’ World War Two figures – The Dog Face G.I.s. There will be a complete platoon of characters available, lead by the no-nonsense Sergeant Steele. We suspect these tough guys (and dames) will soon be fighting the enemies of freedom everywhere – and not just those despicable Nazis! And for those of you who have been collecting Kosta’s 28mm Warrior Frogs you can now add some artillery to their amphibian hordes and defend your pond will batteries of Frog Cannon and crew.
Thank you everyone. We are looking forward to seeing you all at Historicon and Claymore. Historicon 08: 24th–27th July, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA.
