15mm AB Figures: French Cavalry Casualties and more
The AB Figures range of 15mm Napoleonic Wars miniatures remains one of the most comprehensive and beautifully sculptured ranges available in this scale today, and yet there is always something that can be supplemented or a gap in the range that can be filled! In this case Tony Barton thought it was time we included some cavalry casualty packs to compliment the numerous infantry casualty sets already available. These will be especially useful for those of you playing the popular new ‘Lasalle’ wargame rules which use casualty figures as markers in the game. The first two sets are for French Heavy Cavalry, (Cuirassiers and Dragoons) and these will be followed by French Light Cavalry sets. If they prove popular Tony hopes to make further cavalry casualty sets for other nationalities. Each set includes a selection of four prostrate or injured horses in a variety of tragic poses, together with four riders who are either equally distressed or pulling themselves together after a heavy fall.
The Spanish Generals set includes four different figures which include a garrochista, sometimes known as the Lancers of Andalucía. These skilled riders were traditionally bull herders who carried a heavy lance, but otherwise wore their traditional clothes rather than a regulated uniform. They were often detailed as escorts to Spanish commanders and their staff. As well as this set Tony has filled another gap in the Spanish range by adding a generic Spanish mounted infantry officer figure.
And finally, for the Russian enthusiasts, we can now offer you Pavlov Grenadiers wearing greatcoats. You can already obtain summer uniformed Pavlov Grenadiers (in their famous old mitre caps) from the Russian 1812-14 lists, but these sons of dependable serf stock are wrapped up against the cold. They include a drummer and a standard bearer along with the multiple rank and file variants. We have listed these new Pavlov Grenadiers along with the other greatcoat wearing figures in the ‘early’ Russian range (1805-11) but seeing as their distinctive headgear remained unchanged throughout the Napoleonic Wars and the greatcoat ‘hides’ everything else, these figures can be recruited into 1812-14 Russian armies without much in the way of uniform dilemmas! Also, by popular demand, we have added a fusilier standard bearer in greatcoat to the 1805-1811 Russian infantry.
Here are the codes and details for the new sets and figures.
