As previously announced Eureka Miniatures have now become the sole manufacturers of the AB Figures 15/18mm Napoleonic, ACW and Ancient ranges. To celebrate this important event we are releasing the first new Napoleonic figures from Tony Barton in several years.
Those of you familiar with Russian Napoleonic armies will know of the Pavlov Grenadiers who retained their famous mitre caps long after the rest of the Russian army began to slowly adopt the shako after 1805. The honour was conferred on the regiment by the Tsar in recognition of they’re bravery at the Battle of Freidland in 1807, who ordered them to retain their caps and to maintain them in the condition “in which they left the battlefield”. Accordingly the Pavlov Grenadiers jealously guarded their mitres, carefully handing them down through each new generation of recruits – complete with battle damage and bullet holes preserved as badges of honour! On the eve of the Russian Revolution in 1917 the Pavlov Grenadiers still possessed some 600 of these Napoleonic mitre caps.
The AB Figures range of Russians for 1805-1811 already includes Grenadiers in mitre caps that can be used to represent Pavlov Grenadiers for early campaigns like Austerlitz and Friedland, but these new figures depict the Pavlov Grenadiers in their mitre caps and wearing the later uniform associated with the momentous campaigns of 1812 and after. As you would expect from Tony Barton, these are beautifully sculpted figures, with different variants for the rank and file figures. Although Tony does not do a lot of work in this smaller scale any more we are hoping to see a few more new 15/18mm AB releases over the coming months.
Here are the catalogue details for the new miniatures –

Improvements to the Eureka web site
In tandem with the new catalogue we are in the process of up-grading the AB 15/18mm section of our web site so that very soon EVERY product code in these extensive ranges will be illustrated with a picture showing a representative sample of the available figure variants. This process will be completed over the next few days, and we will be making further improvements to the way our web site presents the AB Figures 15/18mm ranges at a later date.
